These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the McRoberts website, including the McRoberts Jobs platform and any forms, pages, or tools made available through it (together, the “Site”).
By using the Site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the Site.

These Terms apply to all Site users, including:
- Jobseekers / candidates
- Employers / hirers and business contacts
- General visitors
If you use the Site on behalf of a business, you confirm you have authority to bind that business to these Terms.
3) Changes to the Site or these Terms
We may update the Site and these Terms from time to time. We’ll post the latest version on the Site and update the “Last updated” date. Your continued use of the Site after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
4) Privacy and cookies
Your use of the Site is also governed by our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, which explain how we handle personal data and cookies.
5) Access and availability
We aim to keep the Site available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may suspend, withdraw, or restrict any part of the Site for operational, security, or legal reasons.
6) Accounts and security
Some parts of the Site may require you to create an account or submit details.
- You must provide accurate information and keep it up to date.
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of any login details.
- You must notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access.
We may suspend or terminate access if we reasonably believe there has been misuse or a security risk.
7) Acceptable use
You must not:
- Use the Site in any unlawful, fraudulent, or harmful way
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to systems, data, or accounts
- Interfere with the Site’s operation (including introducing malware)
- Scrape, harvest, or bulk-collect data from the Site (including job listings or candidate data) without our written permission
- Use the Site to send spam or unsolicited communications
- Misrepresent your identity or affiliation
We may take action (including blocking access) if you breach these rules.
8) Intellectual property
The Site and all associated content (including text, design, branding, logos, page layouts, and materials we create) are owned by or licensed to McRoberts and are protected by intellectual property laws.
You may view and use the Site for its intended purpose. You must not copy, reproduce, modify, distribute, or commercially exploit Site content without our written permission, except where permitted by law.
9) Jobs platform and recruitment disclaimers
A) The employer relationship
Job listings on the Site are posted by employers. Unless a listing explicitly states that McRoberts is the employer, McRoberts is not the employer and does not make hiring decisions. The employer is responsible for the role details, selection process, interviews, offers, pay, checks, onboarding, and the employment relationship.
B) No guarantee of outcomes
We provide a platform and services designed to improve hiring performance, but we do not guarantee:
- that any candidate will be interviewed, offered a role, or hired;
- that any employer will make a hire;
- that a listing will remain open for any period of time; or
- any specific outcome, including time-to-hire, cost-per-hire, or retention.
Outcomes depend on factors such as role requirements, location, pay and shift patterns, employer responsiveness, and market conditions.
C) Applications, screening and communications
When you apply for a role (or submit your details through the Site), your application and any screening responses will be processed to support the recruitment process and shared with the relevant employer. After an employer receives your application, they may contact you directly and will handle your data in line with their recruitment process and privacy information.
10) Employer terms (enquiries, job listings and services)
If you are an employer (or acting on behalf of one), you agree that:
A) How job posting works
To list a role on the Site, you must submit an enquiry and provide accurate information about your hiring needs. We will typically arrange a call and then provide a written proposal. Roles are published only once the applicable commercial terms have been agreed in writing.
We generally offer three ways to work with McRoberts:
- Listing – your role is listed on the McRoberts Jobs platform (with screening questions where applicable).
- Boosted – your listing plus additional promotion (for example, featured placement and distribution via McRoberts-owned channels).
- Fully managed services – a bespoke campaign and delivery model agreed in a separate statement of work.
B) Approval and moderation
We may approve, decline, pause or remove a listing or promotion at our discretion where we reasonably believe it:
- breaches these Terms or applicable law,
- is misleading, discriminatory, or harmful,
- creates operational, reputational, or legal risk, or
- is inconsistent with the purpose of the Site.
C) Job content standards
All job listings, screening questions, and related content you provide must be:
- accurate, current, and not misleading,
- lawful and compliant with employment and equality law,
- free from unlawful discriminatory criteria,
- respectful and professional.
D) Authority and rights
You confirm you have authority to advertise the role and to use any branding, logos, images and text you provide. You grant McRoberts a licence to host, reproduce, display and distribute that content for the purpose of advertising the role (including via the Site and, where applicable, Boosted/managed distribution).
E) Recruitment responsibility
Unless explicitly stated otherwise, you are responsible for:
- assessing candidates, conducting interviews, and making hiring decisions,
- carrying out any checks you require (e.g., right to work, licences, background checks) in compliance with law,
- issuing employment terms and managing the employment relationship.
F) Candidate data
How candidate data is controlled and processed depends on the agreed service model and is described in our Privacy Policy and, where applicable, your contract and any Data Processing Agreement.
11) Candidate terms (applying for roles and joining job alerts)
If you are a candidate, you agree that:
- Information you provide (including CVs, qualifications, licence details, and screening answers) must be accurate to the best of your knowledge.
- You must not submit content that is unlawful, abusive, defamatory, or infringes someone else’s rights.
- If you opt into job alerts / candidate database features, you understand you may receive emails about roles that match your profile, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
12) Third-party services and links
The Site may integrate or link to third-party services (e.g., analytics, advertising platforms, CRMs, ATS tools, embedded content). We are not responsible for third-party sites or services, and your use of them may be governed by their own terms and policies.
13) Packages, pricing and separate agreements
McRoberts does not offer “self-serve” job posting checkout on the Site at this time.
A) Proposals and pricing
Pricing and the scope of services are provided via a written proposal following an employer enquiry and, typically, a discovery call. Any work (including job listing, boosting, or fully managed services) will be delivered only once commercial terms have been agreed in writing.
B) Listing and Boosted packages
Where applicable, Listing and Boosted packages may be provided on recurring or fixed-term terms. The exact inclusions (for example, featured placement, distribution via McRoberts-owned channels, screening configuration, reporting, or caps on applicant volume) will be set out in the proposal and/or contract.
C) Fully managed services
Fully managed services are bespoke and provided under a separate written agreement (for example, a statement of work), which will take precedence over these Terms for those services.
D) Invoicing and payment
Payment terms, invoicing arrangements, and any cancellation or pause terms will be set out in the proposal and/or contract.
14) Liability
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability that cannot be limited by law (for example, liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud).
Subject to the above:
- The Site is provided “as is” and “as available”. We do not make warranties that the Site will be error-free or uninterrupted.
- To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses (including loss of profit, revenue, business, goodwill, or data).
- Our total liability arising out of or in connection with your use of the Site will be limited to £100 (or, if you have paid us fees through the Site in the 12 months before the claim, the total fees you paid through the Site in that period), except where a separate agreement states otherwise.
15) Indemnity (employers)
If you are an employer, you agree to indemnify us against losses, claims, damages, and costs arising from:
- unlawful or misleading job listings or content you submit,
- your breach of applicable employment/equality laws,
- your misuse of candidate data, or
- your breach of these Terms.
16) Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Site if you breach these Terms or if required for security or legal reasons. You may stop using the Site at any time.
Termination does not affect rights and obligations that should survive termination (including intellectual property, liability, and indemnities).
17) Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms.
